Capturing, modeling and VR Rendering of Natural Environments
Project Description
Explore, research, and develop techniques for capturing, 3D modeling, and real-time rendering of natural environments with water and vegetation. More specifically, we plan to capture and use drone footage of the Sai Kung area to create a synthetic 3D representation with moving sea water and vegetation that resembles the coastline and outlying islands. In the process, we will examine and research different algorithms for real-time rendering of water and trees that are suitable for light-weight, efficient rendering in commodity VR devices.
