Applicant's Roles
1) Assist in water and sediment sampling from coastal seas and mangrove ecosystems.
2) Assist in sample processing such as filtration of water, slicing sediments, etc.
3) Help with various chemical analyses of sediment and water samples.
Applicant's Learning Objectives
1) Get familiarized with planning and conducting fieldwork (sampling coastal seas, wetlands, etc.).
2) Learn to use common sampling equipment such as CTD, sonar, sediment corer, Niskin bottle, horizontal water sampler, etc.
2) Obtain basic knowledge about the chemistry of marine waters and sediments
2) Get research experience in analyzing the chemical components of seawater and sediments (common nutrients, carbon, etc.).
3) Learn data analysis and visualization of data (making plots, etc.)
4) Learn to deliver research outcomes to other people (informal discussion, report, presentation, etc.)
