Determination of Permeability in Porous Media
Project Description
This project aims to seek theoretical solution on determining the permeability in porous media. Both analytical and numerical approaches will be attempted to derive the permeability in a porous granular medium. The outcome will be beneficial across many engineering disciplines including civil, mining, petroleum engineering.

Applicant's Roles
The applicant should have strong interest in physics, mathematics and mechanics. Experience in numerical simulations with any programming language is a plus.
Applicant's Learning Objectives
The applicant will learn to do extensive literature review on the subject of permeability in porous media, to seek possible analytical and numerical ways to tackle the determination of permeability in these materials, to analyse the results and summarise them in forms of report or paper draft. It will offer the applicant a thorough understanding how new scientific research of cross disciplinary nature is conducted.
