Digital Leadership and Digital Transformation
Project Description
Due to emerging technologies continuing to have an impact on business operations, customers, and employees, digital transformation is inevitable for companies. Digital transformation is a business model reinvention that requires different functions across the organization to work together in new ways and can happen only through large-scale investment in building an entirely new set of capabilities. Thus, digital transformation requires the right leadership to be able to steer firms around the risks, through the challenges, and toward new opportunities. Firms now need a completely different kind of leadership, which is "digital leadership." Digital leadership requires identifying trends and understand the importance of technology and how it can be implemented, keeping people connected and engaged, and driving a culture of innovation, risk tolerance, and continuous improvement by strategically using a company's digital assets to achieve business goals. In this project, we study what is digital leadership, how digital leadership is different, how leaders can develop digital leadership skillsets, and how leaders can blend traditional skills and digital skills for effective digital transformation by conducting comprehensive research on academic papers, industry reports, and business cases.
