An electrodeposition robot
Project Description
The project aims to replace the manual operation of electrodeposition with an automated system. Electrodeposition is the process of metal coating from a soluiton of metal salts. It is also the charging step of a metal electrode in a battery, which currently limits the performance of Zn and Li metal batteries alike. Along with a PhD student, the participant will gradually build the hardware and software for automating the procedures, eventually reaching a state of automonous experimentation that can leverage AI for process optimization and scientific discovery.
