GoodClass.ai: Enhancing Educational Productivity and Learning in Hong Kong Secondary Schools
Project Description
The project is envisioned in two phases. The first phase focuses on leveraging GenAI technologies to automate repetitive teaching and administrative tasks, allowing teachers to allocate more time to individualized instruction and personalized feedback. This aligns with the principles of differentiated instruction, which emphasizes tailoring teaching to meet the diverse needs of students.
The second phase aims to integrate these GenAI tools into students' learning processes, once appropriate AI policies are in place. This phase focuses on innovating new methods for deepening student learning, such as integrating the use of GenAI in flipped learning. The flipped classroom model, where students learn content online before class and engage in active learning during class time, can be further improved when students can critically appraise their and their peers’ work before classes using AI evaluation tools. Class time can then be used for purposeful discussions to dig deeper into the subject matter.
