The Integration and Characterization of an Artificial Compound Eye
Project Description
Offering large angular field-of-view, high angular sensitivity and temporal resolution, an Artificial Compound Eye (ACE) has great potential in areas such as surveillance, endoscopy, motion detection, and visually controlled navigation. However, the current ACE research is focused more on the performance of an individual eye unit but less on the integration of these units into a complete ACE. Here an integrated ACE is proposed and demonstrated. Its application to object motion-tracing will be investigated.
