Production Large Area Uniform Single-Crystal Graphene Films
Project Description
Graphene is a rising star in materials science. The goal of this project is to prepare high quality, large size graphene for military and industrial applications. Our approach uses electropolished copper foil as catalytic surface during a chemical vapor deposition process. Study will focus on process optimization and understanding of the synthetic chemistry and fundamental physics associated with graphene. Our ultimate goal is to enable production of low-cost, high quality, large-area graphene films for various applications, such as flexible, transparent electrodes, Radio-Frequency electronics, Field-Effect-Transistor-based chemical sensors, near infrared detectors, novel composite containing graphene.
