Zooplankton's role in the biogeochemical cycle of the ocean
Project Description
Zooplankton play a crucial role in the ocean's biogeochemical cycle. However, their contributions, particularly regarding the dissolved organic matter (DOM) they release, are still being studied. In this project, the student will conduct a zooplankton incubation experiment under simulated laboratory conditions to investigate their role in various environmental settings. The physiological responses of zooplankton, specifically gene expression, and the resulting DOM will be measured.
