Introduction

The International Research Opportunities Program (IROP) aims to broaden HKUST students’ learning experience by giving them an opportunity to conduct academic research in an environment outside Hong Kong. The IROP experience will help students enhance their communication skills, while simultaneously promoting greater awareness and understanding of different cultures.
 

MIT – HKUST Summer Research Exchange Program

From summer 2012 to summer 2018, we were in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to offer the MIT – HKUST Summer Research Exchange Program for undergraduate students to participate in faculty-mentored research projects at each other's universities, thereby equipping them for their future careers and further studies in today's globalized world. In total, 31 HKUST students and 31 MIT students joined the program.
